DUI Evaluation & Education Providers
If you are charged with a D.U.I., you must undergo an alcohol and drug evaluation from an Illinois Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA)-licensed provider before sentencing can occur for the DUI offense, or restricted or full driving privileges can be granted by the Secretary of State. The purpose of the evaluation is to determine the extent of the defendant’s alcohol and/or drug use and its associated risk to current or future public safety. The expense for the alcohol assessment is your responsibility.
If you are ordered by the Court to undergo a D.U.I. Risk Level Program for drug/alcohol abuse, you must complete the classes prior to a court date as set by the Court in your sentencing order. On your return court date, you must furnish the Judge with a certificate verifying that you have successfully completed the D.U.I. Risk Level Program.
You must follow all of the conditions of your sentencing order. D.U.I. Evaluations and D.U.I. Risk Level Programs can only be done by a program certified by the Illinois Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (DASA). To locate a certified provider in your area see the Illinois Division of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse.
